Sean is into anything that makes noise, and the more noise the better. He was thrilled when Aunt Meghan let him play the piano at my parents' house this weekend. I wish I had a video so that you could hear the wonderful melodies he was creating...

O'neal Baby Shower

This weekend we went to Ceres to visit my family and to celebrate the upcoming birth of Elliott to our friends Melissa and Shannon. We threw them a shower on Saturday night that was awesome, despite the 108 degree heat. Thanks to Kathy, Melissa's mom, for doing all the work!

On Sunday morning we drove to St. Helena to visit with Jeff's side of the family. Those pics are on another camera so it'll have to wait until another day. Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but our summer is getting busier which means more photo-taking. More posts to come...promise!

Sean is All Better

Just wanted to let you all know that Sean is a-ok. We went into the hospital because of his rapid breathing, but apparently it was just a minor cold that was causing it. We were at the hospital so long on Friday because they wanted to observe him to make sure his breathing got better and not worse. He didn't require any treatment, so that was a relief. When we left the hospital on Friday, he was happy and breathing normally. Actually, he was happy the whole time, it was just the rapid breathing that freaked us parents (and the advice nurse) out. Besides being exhausted, he's been fine, and the cold is pretty much gone now.

Thanks for all the concern! Having a sick baby is no fun, but Sean took it pretty well. Here's a pic of him on Sunday, back to his mischeivous self in his adorable Adidas track suit from the Schnell family. Thanks Suzi and Jeff! Can't wait to see you guys next weekend!

Sean in Hospital

Many of you know through my Facebook update on Friday that Sean went to the hospital. His stomach was "retracting" with each breath, and it concerned me too much not to call Kaiser and ask about it. The nurse, after consulting with a doctor, recommended the ER rather than waiting a few hours for an appointment at the clinic.

Not willing to take any risks, I took their advice and brought him in. Darcy, who was already at work, came home and we took him in together. It was one of the longer days of our lives as we sat in the ER room, and then later a more comfortable pediatric room on the third floor for hours on end, getting periodic visits from nurses and doctors.

Sean was in a good mood most of the day despite his wheezing and retracting. After quite a bit of testing and consultation, we were finally released at 8pm on Friday night - after 12hrs straight at Kaiser Santa Clara, which is the hospital Sean was born at. I went home a couple times to take Bosco out, but Darcy was there the whole time! Way to go mom.
