Heartbreaker Super Bowl... Again!

You know that feeling when you get really really really into a game and it doesn't go the way you want it to? It's a feeling that combines frustration, anger, helplessness, and being sick to your stomach. I have never felt this way so badly as when the Giants lost game 6 of the 2002 World Series after leading 5-0 in the sixth inning. I was devastated, and will be scarred for the rest of my life from that heartbreaking loss.

Last year I was a huge fan of the Patriots run at an undefeated season. When they lost the thriller to the NY Giants in the Super Bowl, I felt sick to my stomach.

I have that same feeling again right now, having just watched Arizona scratch and claw and come back to take a 23-20 lead in the 4th quarter all to lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who I have never cared for.

Man, when is the team I'm rooting for going to win for a change?!?!

It was Sean's first Super Bowl so I of course had to capture an image of it. Don't worry, Darcy was right next to him to catch him if he was to fall over:

Raised a 49er fan, I'm an NFC fan. It's kind of like preferring the AL if you are an A's fan (or the reverse for the Giants). But I thought the game was great.

Was I rooting for Arizona? You betcha. Also, it was worth rooting for Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, JJ Arrington and Arizona ST, but you know why that was. Do I wish Fitzgerald's TD stood up? Yes. Am I going to feel bad? No.
