- I saw my first Toyota Prius Taxi cab not too long ago. Any of you seen one of those yet? Makes sense.

- I also saw somebody get pulled over for talking on the phone while driving for the first time last week. I think texting while driving is much more dangerous than holding the phone up to your ear, but I'm glad that there will now be fewer annoying drivers on the road. It seems like every time I pass an obliviously slow driver it turns out that they are talking on the phone. I bet my little sister Beth is happy to be turning 18 soon since until then she can't talk on the phone in the car at all!

- Darcy and I recently hung a professionally done family picture on the wall in our living room. Here is what it looks like (this is a picture of a picture):

- There are probably only four bands/artists that I will purchase their new album without having to be proven it's worth it. Those are Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Coldplay, and John Mayer. This list is subject to change and if you asked me five years ago for this list it would be different, but this is what it is now. I bought the new Coldplay album a few weeks ago and am happy to report that it's very good.

- Darcy is now 36.5 weeks pregnant. Our son is due this month! However, with the July 31st due date, he could very easily make us wait until August. If you ask Darcy, he is ready to come out now and she can't see how it could take another four weeks, but we'll see what happens. I am both excited and nervous for the feelings I'm sure to get when I become a dad. I am excited because I know it's going to be an amazing feeling and a lot of fun, but I'm nervous because of the new challenges and enormous amount of responsibility that goes along with raising a child.

- On Friday Darcy and I went to Modesto. Our friends Jeff and Jennifer were having a fireworks show with a bunch of their neighbors. There were tons of fireworks that a few boys kept going for about an hour. They placed them on three different ladders so there was pretty much at least one firework going the whole time (and many times all three were going simultaneously). It's been many years since I'd seen "block" fireworks. It made me reminisce to my childhood when it was a yearly event for my parents to buy fireworks (usually at the little league sponsored fireworks stand) and go crazy lighting them on the night of July 4th.

- Saturday morning I played golf at Dryden Municipal Golf Course in Modesto with Darcy's parents and grandpa. For the third time in a row I shot an 83. I was fairly pleased with how I played, but this 83 was not as good as my last one two since it was a slightly easier course. Had I got off the tee a little better, I could have shot in the 70's.

- Today I woke up at 6am to watch the Federer/Nadal Wimbledon tennis final. At noon I was still watching! Five sets and two rain delays later, Nadal finally outlasted Federer in one of the great Wimbledon finals ever. Even though I have never really been much of a Federer fan, I found myself rooting for him today, but was also not too disappointed to see him lose his bid for six straight Wimbledon titles. Does mens tennis have a new king or will Federer bounce back?
