Family Reunion Weekend & Baby Shower

This weekend we headed to Santa Rosa for our fourth and last baby shower. Bundled into the weekend was family reunions on both sides of the family and a round of golf with my dad.

On my dads side of the family two of his three siblings live quite far away, with his brother Gene living in Kalispell, Montana, and his other brother Mario living abroad in Beijing, China. With both of them in town for a few weeks over the summer it was a must to get together, so my dad's sister Alice scheduled a gathering in her backyard on Saturday morning.

Heres's all the girls and below that is all the guys, which made up everyone who was there.

Saturday afternoon my dad and I headed out to Oakmont to play a round of golf. I shot my record score for Oakmont, finishing with an 80. On the 18th hole I was a ten foot par putt away from shooting in the 70's, but it wasn't to be.

On Sunday it my mom's side of the family's turn. We met at my grandma's house at 1pm to visit in her beautiful backyard, which includes a pool with a diving board.

My cousin Aimee's daughter Lucy had a great time in the pool as well. She kept climbing on my back and having me swim all around the pool with her on there.

My cousin Erica and her husband Scott and two kids Elyse and Connor were in town from Hawaii. Now that they are living over there they only come to California once a year, so it was great to see them. Here's Connor and Elyse.

Because of this somewhat rare occurrence when all the cousins are in one place, we had to get a photo of it. Look at us all grown up! Even Beth (on the left) is practically grown now. She's off to Cal Poly in September.

er the years this small group has grown quite a bit. If you include significant others and kids, this is what it looks like (and pretty soon there will be two more with Sean arriving in a few weeks and Aimee and Hank's third daughter expected in October):

Toward the end of the day Darcy and I opened shower gifts. Sean got lots of great stuff, including a Cal Poly sweater and car seat. He also got from my big sister Trisha a Dr. Seuss book called Wacky Wednesday. This was a very creative, meaningful gift that Trisha was able to come up with. As kids, Trisha and I loved this book. My Nonni had it at her house, and when we stayed there, we always read it. The cool thing about this book and why it's so great for kids is that it's more than just a good read, it's a book you can stare at and study. It never gets old. Thanks Trisha! I'm sure Sean will love it just like we did.

It was a great weekend seeing both sides of the family, including those who live far away. I can't wait to see them all again and introduce them to Sean Michael Narduzzi.
