Girls Camping Trip

This year was the 5th annual Devcon girls camping trip at Pinecrest Lake. This is the fourth year for me, and it was just as fun as ever. There were eleven of us total, on two campsites. The forecast called for low 70's with intermittent thunderstorms, but the weather turned out perfect. It was warm, sunny, and dry.

We drove up Thursday night and got to Pinecrest around 8:30. On Friday morning, we hiked around the lake which took about two hours. Then we hung out on the beach in the afternoon, followed by a yummy taco dinner at the campsite, some Apples to Apples (a super fun card game), and of course, campfire time with S'mores.

Saturday we spent most of the day on the beach, and then we went to the "Steam Donkey" (the local bar) and then had dinner and campfire time.

We didn't have any problems until Sunday morning when we were woken up by people running through our campsite at 4am. Some guys had scoped out our beer and decided to steal it!!! Now I have been camping at Pinecrest almost every year of my life, and we have never had anyone steal from us, so the incident was a little disconcerting. Since it was Sunday though, and we were leaving that morning, it wasn't that big of a deal.

Overall, it was an awesome weekend with great weather, great views, and great company.
